The Sustainable University Award 2011 has been handed out by Louise Fresco on March 19th 2012 at the Mediamatic Lab. First prize is awarded to Theo van Lieshout for his idea to vent heat into space. Second prize went to Rian Verpalen of UvA’s Facility Services with her idea for an electric car for the Board-members of the UvA and HvA. The third prize went to Martijn Bekker, researcher at the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences, who proposed to recycle plastic as well as paper within the organization.
